Computer Programming
A few decades ago, programmers either worked in COBOL (if they worked in a business environment) or in FORTRAN (if they worked in a technical or scientific environment).
Today's programmers are expected to know a wide variety of programming languages (BASIC, C, Java, and SQL, to mention just a few); and in addition they must know about databases, object orientation, prototyping, structured programming... In a field that is constantly changing, keeping up-to-date is essential!
